    About the Designer

Hubert De Givenchy founded his namesake Haute Couture and Ready-To-Wear House in 1952. Upon launching, Givenchy almost immediatley earned a reputation for breaking classic fashion codes. Today, Givenchy remains synonymous with the dual notions of fresh modernity and aristocratic elegance, a tribute to the talent of Monsieur Givenchy and that of his successors, in chronological order: John Galliano, Alexander Mcqueen, Julien Macdonald, Riccardo Tisci and, most recently, Clare Waight Keller. In June 2020, the iconic house inaugurated a fresh chapter in its history by appointing designer Matthew M. Williams as creative director of women’s and men’s collections.
